It has been shown in previous studies in the Tiwanaku valley (Argollo et al., 2003, GEOBOL (Geologia de Bolivia), 1994) and in other valley in the Lake Titicaca basin (Rigsby et al., 2003) that these sedimentary deposits are compatible with Pleistocene and early Holocene alluvial fans mostly located on the southern flank of the valley.
